Unhappy 85 Ramcharger trans problems

I Have A 85 Ramcharger. Reverse Went Out . What Do I Do. Can It Be Something Simple. All Other Gears Work Fine. Thanks For Your Help

did you check the level of your trans. fluid?If the level of the trans. fluid is ok and the oil is still nice and red,you might have some serious problems.This just happened to my truck last fall and I knew there was something seriously wrong with it so I removed the trans and had it checked by a tranny shop,results were as followed on mine;a piece of a band laying in the pan, a cracked valve body, and alot of filings in the bottom of the pan.My trans needed a complete rebuild.oh this is assuming that it is an automatic

thanks for your imput. i pulled the pan off and found that the reverse actuator valve is cracked. now i just have to find one.
