Question Dynomax Exhaust...?

Hey just looking to see if anyone knows how Dynomax exhaust is on the trans am? Does anyone have or have you heard this exhaust. I am just looking to get the muffler not the full system, any suggestions.... will i get a good roaring sound out of it?

i got the 2.5 stainless mufflers under my car, straight through design, sounds great is all i can tell you, it doesn't have that ugly flowmaster sound, it sounds deep and mellow. engine is a 350 pontiac with headers and all the other good stuff. you won't attract every cop in town ...

Re: Dynomax Exhaust...?

Well its a 96 trans am with the LT1... i got a cheap muffler... flowpro put on jus to mess with it when i took my car to get the tips changed from them ugly ones that come stock with it. But i just want to put a dynomax muffler on the car not the full system, does it sound good and alot better then stock. I want somethin that gives a pretty loud sound to it where you are looked at by everyone as you pass by. Does anyone have any suggestions on what other mufflers there are.... how is flowmaster and slp? i hear the flows are good but i want somethin that rips and sounds good.... suggestions please..?

Re: Dynomax Exhaust...?

Here is the set-up I have on my 97' LT1 and I recomend it to evryone cuz it sounds great... I have 3inch from the cat back in to an 80's series flowmaster then I have 3 inch coming out of the flowmaster to the three and a half inch chrome slash tips. Sounds better then any other LT1 I have heard where they put only an 80's series with everything else still stock. It's a really deep mellow tone and really rips when you get on it. I am putting headers on this weekend so well see what that does to it......

The previous owner of my 89 Formula threw in a DynoMax catback exhaust that he never got around to installing. According to DynoMax, it's supposed to add about 20hp or so. Check them out at www.dynomax.com. But if you're looking for sound, I think Flowmasters would give you more of that "throaty" roar.
Then again, if you're really looking to turn heads you could throw some of those "buzzy" ricers' fart-pipes on it. You might get dirty looks from every other Firebird owner, but you would turn heads. Ha! Ha!

i have an LT1 with a full cat back borla, took all the restrictor plates out of it. Im telling you, its the best thing you have ever heard. a loud mouth from slp is louder, but doesn't sound as "good". I personally think flow masters sound like ass, too "white trashy", but thats just my oppinion. Borla has kinda sound where everyone wants you to step on it, not the kind where everyone is like--what kinda piece of shit is that comming down the road. Needless to say, i down shift way too much to take advantage of that sound.

Anyways, contact borla and see if u can just get the muffler+rear pipes.
Go direct, cost more but u'll get what u need.
