1991 Cavalier

i have a 1991 cavalier wiht 6 miles shy of 200,000.. i love this car and dont want to give it up, but im not sure if its the torque converter or trans, it just quit while driving and no gears work not even reverse but when you try to shift it, its auto, its makes a clicking noise like something is jumping around inside of the trans, but it doesnt shift in any gear so thats why im assuming its the t'c', anyone else have this problem? or any one know what it could be?
