Convertible vs Non-convertible
I keep hearing that the convertible mustangs (89'-92') weigh about 300-400 bls more than the nonconvertable ones because a lot of support is taken away with the top of the car and i was wondering if this is true.
I looked it up and couldnt find anything but im kinda dumb with computers so i thought i'de check here. Thanks |

It is true, with convertibles, you have to add subframe connectors, the motors for the top, the brackets and arms, heavy canvas and so forth.

Re: Convertible vs Non-convertible
the new 05 vette. the convertible model will weigh less than the hardtop. That I know for sure, I used to be a new chevy dealer earlier this year. There is others too I'm sure of. I have a 94 Mustang GT Convertible and it weighs 200 lbs more than my friends 02 GT hardtop so conv. mustangs ARE heavier.

You can find all the info there, it will give you the weight of almost any car. First pick the model, then click on features and specs and then click on exterior. Just scroll down and find the weight. |
