Unhappy trouble shooting 94 caprice

Is thier anyone out there, that can help me? i have just recently put a new distributor, and cap on my car, replaced all spark plugs and fuses, and put a brand new battery into my car, and it still will not start. the engine turns over, but will not start. it makes a poping noise while trying to start. i pinpointed the noise to the exhaust system. i am stuck on this one, any ideas will help. thanks! wedo

Is it getting fuel? You're fuel pump could be shot.

Re: trouble shooting 94 caprice

The first thing I would is check firing order again. Make sure the plug wires are all connected in the correct order. Short of that, re-check all of your work.

You should be able to hear the fuel pump working when the key is put in the on position. If you don't hear it hum, it may be shot...

Weren't you the one saying that your car died shortly after starting it a while back? That may have been a sign that your fuel pump was on its way out... replace the fuel filter for good measure too....
