Question how to change radiator in 1995 honda accord

Hi there, I need to change the radiator in my wife's car and I have no idea how. It's a 1995 Honda Accord. Can anybody provide me the step by step detailed procedure. I'm sorry to inconvenience anybody but I'd really appreciate the help and want to learn how to do my own repairs. Also, what tools do I need for this.

Thanks again.

I have a 97 accord, so it should be pretty much the same to change it out. I actually changed mine last may, so its been a while, but I will see if i can work my way back through it. I hope u are lucky enough to have some metric sockets so it will make it easier. When I changed mine, the only thing I had available was an adjustable wrench. It was not easy to do, but I finished it. I will reply to you again once I can look at it and walk my way through what I did.

Re: how to change radiator in 1995 honda accord

Hey, thank you so much for getting back to me, I really appreciate it. Wow, that must have been hard with just the wrench, but it's good you got it done. For me, the problem is that I need to do this this Sunday as my wife is without her car and I am able to go to my friend's shop on Sunday and use the place and his tools. If you are able to give me the details by then, I would really appreciate it. If you cannot because of short notice, I totally understand and appreciate your help anyways. Thanks again!

take of the radiator cap and...assuming your friend's shop has a lift...lift vehicle up and drain the radiator. look for a white wing-nut shaped plug. once drained...while the car is up on the lift...undo the lower hose from the rad. at this point you can either loosen (don't have to completely remove) the bolts that hold the bottom of both fan shroud and disconnect the fan connectors. or remove the radiator w/ fans attached. removing the fans first gives you more working to undo the the trans cooler hoses *there's 2 cooler lines...remember which one goes to which* lower the vehicle...undo the upper hose. either undo the cooler lines and remove rad w/ fans now...or remove the remaining bolts that hold the fan shrouds to remove the fans and now w/ the fans out of the way...undo the cooler lines *once again...remember which one goes to which when reinstalling* remove the 2 radiator rataining brackets and remove the radiator. transfer over the parts that the new rad don't have...ei cooler hoses. reverse order for install. bleed system of air.
