Shocks for lifted Silvy
I have an '03 1500 4x4 with a 6" pro comp lift and torsion keys. It sits at around 7" of total lift (minus tires) My question is: The lift came with PC ES9000's, I would like to replace these with either PC MX6 adjustables, or Edelbrock "Extreme IAS" shocks. Anyone here using either of these? Do you like the ride?

I've heard the mx6's are excellent. My friend has them on his 6" PC lift and it drive great.

Re: Shocks for lifted Silvy
I've got the MX6 shocks on my truck and I definitely recommend them. My buddy had the ES9000's on his '99(they came with the kit) and he changed his to MX6 when i got mine, there was definitely a difference. I like the fact that the MX6's are adjustable, so whenever I need a bit more firmness or if i'm doing some serious wheeling I can adjust them and then change them back afterwards.
However, I think ProComp has started phasing out the MX6 line as it is and they are going towards the MX6 reservoir shocks. I haven't used those but I am onsidering doing a triple shock kit with them. Sincce you're also considering the edelbrocks, why not take a look at the Rancho shocks as well. Rancho makes some great stuff and they now have the in-cab adjustment option. This is pretty sick if you've seen it. I've been in one truck with it and it blew my mind. You run a plug to each of the shocks from a module on the dash(or headliner) and you can pump the shocks or soften the shocks to your taste without getting out of the truck. Take a look and keep me posted.... http://www.gorancho.com/products/acc.../RS9000RCX.stm |

Re: Shocks for lifted Silvy
I would go with the RS9000's hands down, if they made them. Rancho only makes their RSX and RS9000 lines for up to a 4" lift. I'm sure they would work on a 5-51/2" lift, but I measured on mine, and they were about 1.5" too short. Sucks...

Re: Shocks for lifted Silvy
Again, only available up to a 4" lift, UNLESS you opt for the remote res. shocks.
