themostat replacement

99 Dodge Ram Van 1500, V-8 engine.
In theory, you remove the bolts, lift off the cover and replaced the thermostat. I just can't seem to SEE the access to the thermostat. Any hints or places to point me to which would help with this project?

Thanks, Ted

good luck dude! i have 96 monte 3.1l and i am trying to get to my thermostat right now. If your's is anything like mine you have to start with the air cleaner and go from there. i got a chilton manual and it has really helped but still not detailed enough. good luck, i know i need it.
