1994 town car engine help

My car starts up first crank every time, within 2 seconds, and once the car is warmed up it drives strong. In the morning, though, it just wont go, it crawls at a very jerky stuttering pace up to 20-25mph, but wont go anywhere for a while, then once it starts getting warm it clears up. Also, anytime while driving it, 40% of pedal pressure on the gas is the max acceleration, anything past that and it's a real jerky, kind of pulsing acceleration, like the engine is struggling. The car has 158k no leaks or anything of the sort, doesn't blow any smoke.... Any ideas guys?

Does anyone know how to pull codes using a test light? I really don't want to spend 30$ on a scanner that i'll use once...

Several of the good 'ol boys over at LincolnsOnline know how to make the codes flash at the check engine light. Kinda like a Morse code deal.

I said the same thing several times before I got a scanner. I've used mine 20+ times since then, loaned it to good friends, etc. Several times driving up steep hills at 80mph I get "engine.." I can scan and clear the "lean condition on #3" without even pulling over.

I don't know of any process for testing Cats.
