2001 door panels

I am in need of help. I need to replace the speakers on my crew cab s-10. How do i go about doing this? I can get the whole door panel off but the top. What is holding this on? Thank you for your help.

I hope that second one was a typo...

In the arm rest you will see a lid,....Use a small flat head screw driver to pop this off. Remove the 2 7mm screws there. Remove the screw from the plate on the door handle... Now. Starting at the bottom, slowly, but firmly start popping the door panel off.. work your way around.

if your that far and you pull and it wont come off still, you must LIFT while pulling for the top lip to come off, and make sure the manual window crank is off, or if its power, make sure you take the wires off so you dont make a big mess out of this

Newer S10s don't have the plastic lid in the arm rest.The 7mms are under the arm rest.Also the push in trees as they are called are through the door panel from top to bottom.It's rather a pain at the top because you have to pull out and up,theres one push tree up at the mirror that's a pain too.
