01 corolla LE

ok guys.. I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla LE

my car idles low when starting, hesitates when accelerating and when I start it during cold weather sometimes it stalls 1 or 2 times before it finally gets going..

I have changed the spark plugs, cleaned the intake manifold, changed air filter, had the mechanics at toyota look at all the sensors related to intake and exhaust (O2 sensor, MAF sensors). I still can't find the problem, other than speculating that it is my performance exhaust. However, many other corollas in my carclub has performance exhaust (non-TRD) and their car does not idle weird like mine.

I have changed my oil regularly every 5000 KM and I use mobil 1 full synthetic.. maintainance has been done according to service plan (except for oil changes are done more frequently instead of suggested 6 months or 8000 km) .. oh btw.. the engine has 62500 KM on it.. it's still VERY young.

Please help me with this problem .. it's only getting worse.

Re: 01 corolla LE

all I can think of then, is the vacuum, or fuel injection.

Re: 01 corolla LE

can it be a clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump?

Re: 01 corolla LE

I hope it's not the fuel filter, b/c you'd have to service/replace the entire fuel pump then.

Re: 01 corolla LE

I'd say throw in the whole lot of fuel injector cleaners, Sea foam, etc. and see how many people you can piss off in your neighborhood, as drive around leaving plumes of smoke.

haha my car doesn't smoke right now. it's only a starting up problem.. I've checked all the routine things.. hence I've been in a automechanic course through highschool and been maint. my car regularily...

Actually, I meant that once you pour some seafoam into the engine...well...you'll see what I mean.
