Unhappy Bye Bye RX-7

Say goodbye to the Mazda RX-7. Mazda announced that the "Spirit R", the last version of the RX-7 will be the last version the company will produce. They are going to selling the "Spirit R" starting April 22nd with only 1,500 produced from the manufacturer. There will be a 5-speed 2-seater, and a 4-seater, and 2 more versions of the "Spirit R" available for sale in Japan starting from $25500 all the way up to $30000. I've always loved the body style of the RX-7 and dreamed of owning one for myself.

You can believe there is going to be something to replace it. The Rx7 in Japan is one of the most popular cars. I cant wait to see what it is. The way the performance and Import car market is right now it would be just the right time to introduce a new high performance rotory. Not the rx8, its just to test the water's.

'95 was the last yr they imported them Stateside. As for the replacement, I think we got it already w/ the RX8. I dont see Mazda coming out with anythng as radical as the RX7 used to be. From what Ive read tho, that RX8 is gonna be pretty cool car too.

What I'm trying to say is mazda Japan will have to come out with something there, to keep up with all the other major car manufacters.
The rx8 isnt going to do that. Do you realize the following the rx7 has in Japan, it is huge. The rx8 isnt a true sports car and never will be. Plus it(rx7), competes in the JGTC GT 300 class, and finished second in the class this past year. If Mazda wants to remain one of the top runners in this class, which helps them sale cars in Japan more so, they will have to come out with a true high performer, not the rx8. It will have to be a two seat, turbo'ed rotory. They would have to introduce it there first and then depending on the market could bring stateside. I can forsee this in the next two years, I dont care what anyone say's.

The high performance market in Japan is huge, seeing how thats where we get all of our stuff from(DUH). To compete with GTR's, Supra's, EVO's, Silvia's, and all the rest of the high end cars, they have to create a high end sports car, or they will be left behind, and there following will drop off, which would be bad for mazda's racing heritage and there name. So many people love the rx7 it's Mazda's baby. You can believe there is some crazy Japanese Mazda developer who is already at work on it and nobody even know's

Re: Bye Bye RX-7

oh my.... did you have to bring up a post from 7-16-2002 just so you could say "toyota supra is better" I mean seriously, this is an rx-7 forum, its a year and a half old thread, and your gonna bring it back to the top by saying that... do you think before you do anything? I just don't see how you could be so utterly stupid...

Dude. You're a moron. Quit trolling.

*edit* And learn how to spell. And learn grammar too. And wait until you're old enough to own a car before you start dissing on mine.
