94 Bonneville "at wits end"
My car was running fine no problems, on the highway it quit, I coasted then turned the car over it started and ran fine home. It then would not start. No fuel pressure. Replaced fuel pump twice,Ignition switch,Ignition modual fuel pressure regulator, fuel relay, fuel filter, crank sensor, plugs, wires ran ok for a while then back to the intermittent run no run. Tranny went had that replaced with TPS and short shaft ran ok from tranny place started to do the same thing. Run ok turn car off would not start. When it would not start it has no fuel pressure in the rail. Let the car sit (3-4 hrs) it wiuld start again. Took the fuel pump out made sure all wires were ok . When I turn the ignition on fuel pump starts it will run. Turn Ignition on sometimes fuel pump does not run I hear a click in the left front engine compartment followed by a click under the glove compartment where fuel relay is and there is no fuel pressure. Wait a few hours it will start. Oil pressure is fine. Any Ideas cause I'm out.Up to this poit the car has been great or I would not have put the$ into it. At the point of noreturn. Thanks Rick

Re: 94 Bonneville "at wits end"
Geeeze, you darn near changed everything there.
There is a fuel pump test pin behind the battery. It is either a gray or green female connector with a red wire. If you apply a fused 12V source to this pin with the ignition off, it bypass the relay and goes directly to the pump. This helps a lot if the pump isn't currently working. You can check for an intermittent power or ground right at the tank and work your way back. the ground for the fuel pump is located behind the rear seat and is accessible from the trunk. |

I ran into this same problem. I replaced the fuel pump and everything, all that you can think of that was gas related, except for one thing. I found a wire that was disconnected coming from the fuel pump. One idea for you is to check out all of your electric wires for the fuel pump, you may find that one is shorted or disconnected possibly.
