Hey guys, glad to see a board with other F-body owners...
My 86 Trans Am has been having some odd problmes since I've had it. Occasionally the left parking light will not come on when I turn on the car, and this will go on for several days, then light up again like it was alright for weeks. The 'service engine soon' light wil come up (usually in the cold or rain) for seconds/minutes then turn off. The alarm's (a Viper alarm, installed by previous owner) clicker, when pressing the lock/unlock is supposed to make that "beep beep" noise, this happens on a 50/50 basis. The electronic lock inside will not lock the passenger door (however, one day it locked it once!) And lastly, today the car kept locking/unlocking itself with the electronic lock consistantly for a few minutes while i was driving, i was not touching the lock buttons or anything, it stopped once i did, however. Does anyone have a clue on what's going on, or some kind of idea? Thanks guys- Aaron |

Re: 86 TA..Electircal Problems
Welcome to the forum Aaron. Have you flashed the ECM to find out what code/codes your setting?.

Re: 86 TA..Electircal Problems
your connections on the alarm sounds like they are exposed to moisture and may be spliced into your parking light circuit. your engine light may give you a list of problems but it is not familiar with an alarm so everything it says is based on the factory systems without an alarm so what ever it says is probably wrong your best bet is to completly take it out repair all spliced wire in the factory harness and see if it helps. if it does then go back and reinstall the alarm without splicing the harness for power unless told to such as lock soliniods and such. make sure it is on its own power for the fuse box and make sure everything is weather tight
