RE Audio question for fryman

ive been checking out the xxx online. the reaudio site really doesn't offer alot of information. i noticed they offer a quad voice coil. heard of it a few times but no experience with it. does it just offer more wiring options like the dual has over the single? ill keep looking online but i might still have a few questions.

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

Basically all quad voice coil does for you is be able to run an assload of amps on one sub. For a daily setup you could just get dual 2 ohm and a 1500+ watt amp at 1 or 4 ohms.

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

would there be a difference of sq or sp by running 4 smaller amps to each coil as opposed to running one big amp

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

nope. Basically they just make QVC so competitors can put 4 (or 8 strapable) amps for uber high wattage for burps..... One amp is MUCH more cost effective then four FYI.

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

what about cost. no retail price listed on the website. not that i would pay that anyway, but to get a general idea. are the 15s really as good as yall say they are because ive heard many 15s and most of them are slammin but when it comes to sq ive never heard one particular one that sets it apart from any others

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

that is not bad at all. any recommendation on tuning of a 15 or 12. also, if two subs are run in an enclosure that is not separated, does the fact that they are running in the same airspace effect how it needs to be tuned.

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

between 28 and 35hz for daily use. The lower you go the lower the bass will get and the more SQ. The higher you tune the louder it will be with the sacrifice of the low lows.

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

what if i was to keep my punch p3s and add an xxx15. how should i set up the enclosure. i was thinking, seal the 12s and port and tune the 15 between them. basically 12-15-12 . so i get the lows of the 15 and keep the higer freqs with the 12s. do you think that it would sound ok, or should i just get 2 xxx15s.

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

NO, you dont want to mix subs. It will sound shitty. Since your looking at XXX's im assuming that you want SQL? and just making sure, (2) XXX's is goin to need 3.5-4 Kilowatts of power

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

XXX doesnt need 3.5-4kw of power....especially in a ported enclosure....it can handle it but it isnt needed....are you trying to go deff son? (i know i am)
also, no sub NEEDs any amount of wattage. you can send it 1w or 1000w. it will still make music.
and XXX isnt SQL. it is a sub ment for pure SQ. the fact that it moves 2" P2P if you give it enough power and can get extremely loud is just a bonus. Same with the Brahma (why is adire going down to a 2.5" VC???)
1 15 will more than "out slam" your 12's. But if you want to step up with the big dogs get the 18
Price with RE is 100% aditude dependant and who you know dependant. for your average person a 15 can be $420 on a good day or $450 on a bad day.
to get a good price be nice to the salesmen on the phone and send david nakie pics of G/F's or Ex G/F's... lol
oh but really, we arent lying, dont mix P2's or w/e you have with the XXX...they wont add but maybe 2dB if that and they will ruine SQ.... plus you ahve to pay for more amps to power them...

Re: RE Audio question for fryman

He said 2 and no an XXX canNOT handle 4kw daily no way..... and u can't get RE to change their prices. And they're downgrading brahmas b/c they will get damn near the same thing out of them with less....there's no need for a 3" VC all id does is raise the inductance......brahmas reach its mechanical limits long before it SUS limits in most cases n e ways. Brahma will no longer be adire's top dog the Tumult will now be made in 12's 15's and 18's and I'm guessing wll have a higher Fs since they are goin pretty much towards car audio with their subs now....btw Adire isn't gunna sale direct anymore they will have over 100 dealers in the country selling their subs when the new lineup comes out.... also expect a price drop WOOOTTT!!!!!

I have one XXX 15" dual 2 ohm on a Cadence ZRS-8 (1500w, but as people have told me they are under rated). It pounds so hard that I don't WANT to keep it at even 1/2 volume. I've already managed to vibrate my rearview mirror right off the windshield and just about rattled everything in my car lose to the point it sounds like shit because that's all I hear. It's a monster and even scarrier, there are louder 15's than this.

Are you an Idiot??? I clearly was talking about (2) XXX 15's. N Everyone knows the XXX was built as an SQ sub.

That in essence makes it an SQL sub. Thank you, come again.
