How to fix Rear Defrost ?

The piece that is connected to the window has fallen off.
I have an 02 Spyder conv and I've already had this fixed once while under warranty. It's no longer under warranty and I'm trying to figure out what I should use to fix it.

Hey, i had the same problem in my 96 Sebring Convertable...its a real easy fix if you are a little handy with a mini torch. All you need is a little solder and a mini torch. You have to slowly heat the window up with the torch in the area that the piece connects too, make sure you dont burn any of the heat lines because that will probably make them not work. You might also want to get another person to help you with this. One of you hold the torch and the solder, and the other hold the metal piece. Put the metal piece up to the window and then apply some heat and solder to them, it might not be a complete seal, but it will hold it. I only had my Sebring for another year or so after I did this, but it worked fine for that time. It's a cheap easy fix, and I doubt you will run into any problems. Make sure that you use electrical solder, and you might want to put a little flux paste on it to help it hold togeather. Good luck and take your time.

They sent it to someone else.

I'm not sure about that soldering aspect...don't want to heat up the glass too much.

The original fix looks like it was just glued on.

Re: How to fix Rear Defrost ?

Go to Vauto Zone and get a repair kit. Also look in any Haynes manual on the shelf. They have a few pages on how to fix it. There is this special paste you can put on.
