Re: Overheat

Try changing out your temp sensor, Code 13 is Atmospheric Pressure???? What ever that means, I'd kinda like to know what that is refering too if anyone knows for sure. But maybe ya got a bad temp sensor or something. If you look around you might be able to get a number on the resistance your supposed to have at the sensor at certain temps but i dont have that info

Re: Overheat

It's definatly worth a try cause it would be an easy fix, and it seems like a good place to start, if the temp sensor is good, then start going over the wiring again. cause if can get antifreeze through the drain at the bottom of the radiator, then it should be flowing fine in the rad. i'd think. Also you might check the rad. cap and see what kind of shape its in but i don't think that would cause it to overheat fast like you said, you'd prob have to drive for a little while before that became a prob or let it idle for a good long while

Re: Overheat

How long does it take to over heat. Does alot of pressure build up w/ cap on really quick? If so, very well could be the water pump. I had this prob. w/ my hf. I changed everything. Water pump, thermo, hoses, just everything i could think of. Turns out i had a blown head gasket, only water wasn't mixing w/ oil but exaust gas was getting into coolant, but it does take it a little while to over heat. Till the antifreeze blows out the cool. res. Which in your case probably isn't the prob. but it can happen. My best guess is either wiring or waterpump, unless you have no flow thru the rad. But if you put coolant in the rad and it can come out the bottom then your rad should be getting coolant to the engine since it is the bottom hose that goes to your thermo, but i am not sure of how the rad is designed. Water possibly could go from the top straight to the bottom and fill the rest of the rad as you built it up w/ antifreeze, but i have never heard of a rad. designed that way, but i am fairly new to the honda swap stuff, so i maybe wrong. but every car that i have worked on the water starts at the top of the rad and runs either down gradually or runs up and down but i have only seen that on a sabb intercooler which is similar to a rad. but i have never seen a rad designed that way, but then again i havn't seen everything, so don't hold me to it

Re: Overheat

do an oil change and look for any milkshakey looking shit.

also look on the overflow and look for any signs of oil.

Re: Overheat

temp sensor, idk about that. it controls your fan. car shouldnt overheat from that.

and just because you think you bled the system of air, doesnt mean you got it all out. could be that. try run it a couple more times and see if it overheats. did he have any overheating problems before ?

well we changed the temp sensor and hose coming from thermostat housing into heater core was pinched so we fixed that.also put different radiator in.adjusted timing cause it was to advanced. still heats a little. not as bad as b4 though. could wiring have anything to do with it? O and we didnt solder any of the wiring yet. we just wrapped wires together and taped for now just to see if it would start . could this be the cause maybe? getting code 10 now IAT.
