swapping big six with a v-6
I have a 1995 F-150 with a 4.9 (300) straight six with 5-speed stick. Am interested in replacing this engine with one of the newer V-6's. Anyone know if this is posiible (or practical) and will the 4.2 V-6 bolt up to the tranny?

I have moved this to a more appropriate forum, the Ford F-series forum. If you can't find any help in here, you can try the Engineering/Technical Forum also.

Also, the 4.2 Came out in 96 with OBDll Electronics, yours is OBDl. So, nothing will interface and you would end up with way too much money in it to make this at all feasible.

Re: swapping big six with a v-6
I agree keep the I6 even if it needs rebuilding. The I6 makes alot more torque and will last for ever.
