junkyard experience
Ok, I need the space in my garage, so my dead corpse of a Honda must go. I'm stripping one or 2 more parts off of it, and then getting rid of it. My question is this...I need info/advice on how to go about getting rid of it via junkyard.
I have no experience with junkyards other than buying parts there...so... yeah, the car is missing some essential parts that have been sold, so driving it there isn't an option. -So do junkyards pick up, or do I have to call an independent tow-truck? -Do I have to pay, or will the jy take it for free? -What do I do as far as the Title of the car? -Anything else I should know/be wary of?

Re: junkyard experience
You could put it up in the Want ads for free. Thats what I would do and its free to advertise things if they're free.

Re: junkyard experience
I had a tow company take a couple cars to the junkyard, I have free towing on my insurance, check to see if you do.

Re: junkyard experience
Umm when we did our Car smash for a fund raiser we sold the car to a scrap yard and we got $$ out of it. But If u put in a junk yard ppl could get parts off of it. Where as if u scrap it thats it gone.

Re: junkyard experience
Could you maybe donate it. You'll get the whole tax deductible thing off it. Hehe
Just don't know if you'll be able to since there are parts missing....but usually, you could donate a car even if it's not working.

Re: Re: junkyard experience
Alot of places will pick it up for nothing no questions asked. We have had a few cars picked up by a local junkyard. A few we got money for others we didnt but we didnt care, just wanted them gone. Call around to see your options.
