Exclamation Eclipse problem

I own a 96 Eclipse. Say i am going 40 miles in 4th gear. I see a stop light and I put the car in neutral and start stopping. when I put it in neutral is starts to stall. If i give it gas it will go you know to 2000 rpm and then stall. this happend very very rarely but it just happed to me again and I am tired of it. I heard it was a chip or some computer problem in the car or something.

i have actually had the same problem you have had in my 96 rs... like you said, it didnt really happen that often, but when it did it was kinda of irritating. i never heard of any chip or anything, i just ran fuel injector cleaner through the engine and went to alittle better gas station even though it was 1 or 2 cents more. after that it seemed to be just fine. i also noticed that it usually happened when it was cold outside (under about 30ish). when the weather warms up, your problem might disappear. i knwo that it is annoying, but i wouldnt spend a shit-ton of money trying to get it fiexed if its a rare thing

Re: Eclipse problem

try replacing the fuel filter, check the plugs/wires. what does your car normally idle at? should be around 750 (unless you adjusted it)...too low of an idle can cause that (from my experiences). try cleaning the throttle body and hoses too, to get all the gunk and shit out. my car did the same thing when i first bought it. you can try running some cleaner through the system too.
