86 Silverado windshield
I'm replacing the windshield in my 86 Silverado, and I've never done any glass work before. All I have to do is get the weatherstripping out with a putty knife, screwdriver or whatever, and put the new one in, right? Anything special I should know?

Re: 86 Silverado windshield
I use a piece of piano wire to cut out old windows. It takes two people but it works pretty slick!!Then put in new gasket & window then I use dish soap & water to slime up the strip. This will make it go together a LOT easyer.

Re: 86 Silverado windshield
Thanks, that sounds like a good way to do it. I'm gonna take it to a pro to have him (or her) do it. Just found out I'm going storn chasing down in Oklahoma in the next week, and I'd rather not have a windshiled that may leak or fly out.
