I have a 1995 camaro v6 3.4 automatic and i was wondering about equipping it with a nitrous system. Which system (if any) would be the best to put on it. My engine is stock except for a k&n intake, tb bypass, and a resistor on the computer (i heard you werent supposed to have anything that has to do with engine timing when running nitrous... Thanks for the help...

Re: Nitrous on a 3.4 v6
for a stock engine i would say go with a wet shot over a dry shot, just for the fact with the wet shot since it runs off of its own components it wont kill your engine (as fast). now for brands nitrous express or NOS are like the 2 brands u see alot and are both good for around 600-700 bucks u can get a good kit other brands like venom and a few others i dont know anyone who has it and i never used it so i cant speak for it. now keep in mind u can add this to stock engines but u can also jump off a damn bridge with a rubber band straped to your feet and live to talk about it also, but do i reccomend it.....no. at a minimum u should at least do some internal work so u wont kill the engine as fast, because it will catch up with you in the long run. to keep this from being a page if u wanna know more about useing nitrous pm me i also have a v6 but i have the 3800 and i have a nitrous set up so ill help u all i can if u would like.

Re: Nitrous on a 3.4 v6
all i can say is if you go through with i better be careful. your liable to be out way more money that expected, if you blow your engine that is.

Re: Nitrous on a 3.4 v6
he aint lieing, its not if u blow your engine, its when u blow your engine. and that will cost u your butt! ive seen what it can do to a car and its not pretty, even with engines that are built for it ive seen pistons done, rings burned to hell its crazy stuff. great to have, endless potential power but hard on your ride.

The performance gain you will see won't be worth it since you'll probably
be in the 15's "on the bottle!" But, if you want to go faster with such a mild motor, nitrous would be the way to go for the $. Oh yeah, you don't wan't to run any "out-of-the-box" PCM tuning where timing is advanced. Go with a MSD or Accel Ignition box with timing retard feature. |
