'00 Mustang

I have 85K miles on my Mustang, and today my "Service Engine Soon" light came on. Does this sound normal? I figured maybe it's just time for a tune up?

Did you look at your owner manual?

Nice to see you are driven that thing, big thumbs up!

Re: '00 Mustang

the engine light can be many things, just go to autozone and have them read the code, its free. then they will have a book that will tell what the possible problems are for that code.

Re: '00 Mustang

Something that you may try to check is the air intake for the exhaust sys. - my 00' mustang had the same prob. around 98k miles and my father-in-law hooked up my car to a diag. port reader and came back with that part as being the prob. = people in and around him that are good with mech. say that part is generally faulty you can replace it several times but usually the srv eng lit comes back - worst case if it is truly that is you will lose some gas mileage probably 3-5 mpg. - I am not a mech. but it sounds the same and around the same mileage. Hope it helps.
