who can help me hit 170 db?
so ive decided that when i come back from overseas im going to get the mini cooper s with no back seat. just the bed like the back of an suv. i was looking a putting in two eclipse titanium pro 15s. ive never been a fan of 15s but im only concerned with big bass now. its getting to where i can barely hear my 12s anymore. people get in my car and they say they can feel their hair standing up and their throat tightening up. i dont feel it anymore. so, its time to go bigger, not just a little bigger either. i want to stop the hearts of small children from 20 feet away. j/k. but you get the idea. im tired of this weak ass shit. im getting a real system this time. all custom installed with a form fitted ported, vinyl enclosure. im talkin SEMA show type shit. im going to nationals and im gonna blow people away. what i need is someone who seriously knows their shit. WHAT KIND OF AMPS DO I NEED? no fucking around now. i dont want to hear what kind of amp you have. i mean, what kind of amps win big. i mean 170 to 180 db range. what kind of battery/alternator setup do i need? perhaps a 5 farad cap? these are the things i need to know. id really appreciated some knowledgable input. thanks

Re: who can help me hit 170 db?
Your a dumbass you will never break a 160. A daily driver will not break a 170 its just not gunna happen. You'll be lucky to break a 150 w. those two eclipses. I don't think you realize how loud 170db's is.

Didn't 170.5 db break the sheet metal on a white van, (was it Scottie's van..Is that name right)...I remember seeing that video somewhere on the internet....And after 160db, dosen't your vehicle start fallling apart basically?

Re: who can help me hit 170 db?
As stated above, you are a complete imbecile and a failure at life. YOU will never break 150 dB's on the TL...i gaurantee it. BTW, that white van was the old brahma van. Scottie's new van, the Black van has 12 MT 12's and 14 MA HK4000d's with around 134k watts of power. He just hit 170.2 dB's on the TL SENSOR the tightest most accurate SPL sensor. He's the first person to do so EVER in a stock bodied vehicle. I sat in it...for real...it's heart stopping.
So, in conclusion germanyt...you father should have pulled out. NG |

Re: who can help me hit 170 db?
LOL!!!!
in order to hit 170dB you need at minimum: walled off van/huge suv/etc fuckloads of displacement....like scottie's 12 MT 12's or 9 brahma extreme 15's 100,000 watts or more cement in your doors, walls, etc probably 20 or more batteries hundreds of hours of box designing, building, testing, etc you're looking at a $50k-$100k endeavour if you don't have sponsorship, hell it might even be more, I've never actually gone in and started adding things up.

Re: who can help me hit 170 db?
apparently yall dont visit enough competitions. or dont know anything about the eclipse titanium. i have a buddy with a single eclipse 15 in a prefab vented enclosure and a 1600 or 1800w MTX amp in a mitsubishi eclipse. HITTING 150.1 dB on the front windshield. in case you are not sure, 1600 watts is only half of the rms rating on the titanium 15. Also, when i was living in pensacola florida, the state record of 176.3 was broken by someone with 3 eclipse titanium 15s in an extended cab dakota with just under 10000 watts rms. HITTING 177.2 dB. he also said that he will be at nationals hitting 180, no problem. so SUCK MY DICK. I KNOW IT CAN BE DONE. unfortunately, i have no way of contacting him to get some info. thought maybe there were car audio enthusiast here. aparently, everyone of you just thinks they have the best system and like to argue about it. also, this is not going to be a daily driver, dont talk to me like i dont know shit.

Dude, 180 no problem? That's way off. First off you do need a van or some sort of suv, not a hatchback, at least for those kind of numbers. Once you get into the 155+ range do you know how hard it is to increase your db?? Each db is doubling your sound and isn't a piece of cake to achieve. You need who knows how many hours of trial and error with different box types, por types, etc.I don't think anyone has hit above 175(correct me if I'm wrong) but I'm sure noone has hit 180 and won't for a while. If you wanna compete, why don't you use what you have or upgrade a bit, and win in that class? Do you know how competitive these guys in the top levels of db drag are? Not to mention that at some point you're gonna have to learn the tricks of the trade yourself. These record holders aren't amateurs like you(no offense) they are either on a team or do all their shit themselves, they don't front money for someone else to do the work. Why don't you go see what you hit with what you have, compare it to other people in your class, and go from there, that's a bit more reasonable then goin from 140 to 170.

Re: who can help me hit 170 db?
dude gremany do you realize that first of all the world record is like in the mid 170s (and no its not from 3 eclipses).. second of all theres a huge difference between older mics and the tl sensor. your buddy with the single 15 would probably end up in the low to mid 140s at best on a termlab. if you expect for two eclipses in a mini cooper so give you 30 more dbs over your friend youre crazy.
also, your boy logan looks like hes straight outta west coast customs.. and no thats not a compliment in this case cause yeah he can make a show vehicle with a fiberglass wall of 12s and 20 screens, i bet he doesnt know shit about competitions and how so score big at them. so you said to tell you.. so im telling you.. i dont think that guy can do it. are you even gonna be serious abotu competing? if so then you need to work on some stuff (including a sponsorship). if not then who the hell cares if youre at 170 dbs or not? im sure you could get in the 150s with those subs and itll be loud enough to make you go deaf over time. what more than that do you want?
