Autometer 4727 Gauge Question

Carbon Fiber 0-100 Electric Oil Pressure Gauge:

All ready installed the gauge into the pillar. its all pre-wired and ready to go. just havent connected the 12v ignition source, ground, and sending unit. looks nice. The installation wasn't a problem, took about an hour to wire everthing. But i want to mount the sending unit to the firewall. So before i do. Question:

How long of braided stainless steel line will i need? 3 feet, 6 feet? do they come in diffrent hose diamators? will the extra area of oil suppling feed to the remote pressure sending through the braided lines unit create slightly lower pressure drop in the oil because it is being dirrected away from engine? just to keep in the back of my head.

The sending unit looks to be 1/8 inch male fitting, it also came with the 1/4 inch adaptor. would it be wise NOT to use the 1/4 adaptor under the theory "one less part to leak/break/fail"? i need to know that so i buy the right feed lines.

other then tefflon tape, am i missing anything?

P.S. should i bother grounding the pressure sening unit body with an extra wire to chassy or is that overkill?. Autometer recomends the idea.. so..

Thanks.
