Question TC Motor & U-joint questions

First off, many thanks to BlazerLT, rlith, and many others for helping me out with SO many things on my GMC. Wheel bearings, oil lines, annoying hood clunks, etc.
OK, to the quesitons:
1) Anyone tried installing a transfer case/encoder motor with a reman from Cardone? I tried this a month ago and found that it didn't line up properly and I suspect that it may have been a defect in the one I got. Wanted to check before going out and buying another one and wasting time.
2) Tips and/or advisories for replacing u-joints? Getting ready to have that fun this weekend due to clunk (another BlazerLT post...THANX!) going into drive/reverse and vibration between 35-65.
Crucial info: '99 GMC Envoy, 4.3L, 106K miles, 4x4.

Will do, may be postponed though...no fun rolling around in the snow even if its only to take the driveshaft off.

Guess I'm just not that dedicated
