Re: 1994 jimmy dash lights

The ones illuminating the dash cluster?

You have to rip apart the dash, & remove the cluster from the
dash.To get at it you have to take out the heating, a/c, defrost
and 4x4 controls, light switch controls, etc.

Basically, all you need to tak out the control switches
are flathead and phillips screwdrivers, before unpluging and
uncliping the connections.. Then you will
need a deep socket 10mm to get at the nuts holding
down the plastic thing surrounding the cluster, & the cluster itself.
While doing this dont forget there is a gear indicator cable
than runs from the bottem of the cluster and clips on to the
steering collum.

YOur going to have to remove a handfull of little pannels below
the cluster and steering wheelto get at it... If your going to remove
it completely

Mounted on a blue knob, there are quarter turn,
screw in bulbs in the back. They might be a dealer item?

Re: 1994 jimmy dash lights

take the lower garnish panels and heater duct out, you may be able to get your hand up behind the dash that way and just turn the bulb socket conterclockwise 1/4 turn pull bulb and socket out. bring unit to napa they will have a replacement peanut bulb.

Pull the cluster, much easier then trying to get your hand up there... Also take a look at this thread regarding replacement bulbs with clusters. This will for the most part apply to yours as well.

Re: 1994 jimmy dash lights

Hmm i dont see how you could get your hand behind there without unbolting it or taking almost everything out. It cluster is bolted against another panel where
the electical connectors are located.

Re: Re: 1994 jimmy dash lights

Have you done this before? (I'm just a "dumb" girl not sure where to start.) Also, have you changed out the window motors? Saw several on ebay. I've got to get this truck ready by May for my son. Thanks.

For a good how-to on the window motors, look here http://www.usedpartscentral.com/tech/page1.htm
