Transmission flush vs fluid and filter change
I have been reading that many people have had problems with transmission flushes. Shortly after being performed people started having trans. problems.
1. Is there any truth to that statement? 2. Would it be just as good to just do a fluid and filter change instead? 3. Doing the f/f change myself would I need to replace the pan gasket or reuse the old? |

Re: Transmission flush vs fluid and filter change
Yeh a flush on a vehicle with moderate to higher message can break loose bad crap that's built up in the tranny. This stuff can get into things and cause problems, such as a slipping tranny. I'm deffinately with the f / f

Yeah I think I remember the old thread too but Ima put in my two cents. I'm a big fan of the tranny flush with a filter and pan gasket change combined. However, if you have anything more than 75k on the tranny and have never had it flushed before I would stick with the fluid and filter change. The full tranny flush pretty much has to be done on a regular schedule to keep the horror stories from happening to you.
