Door/trunk/brake warning lights come on intermittently

'93 Accord EX. Lately, the (full set of) door, trunk and brake (dash) warning lights occasionally come on for a few seconds while I'm driving and then go off. Whether it's caused by going over a bump I'm not sure.

Anyone seen this before? (I never have in several 100s of thousands of Accord driving.)

I'd be looking for a loose dash ground, or water intrusion from a windshield leak, if it seems to happen after a rain or wash. Shot in the dark...

I don't think it's water-related (it's been dry most days here). The loose dash ground sounds like a possible, though I don't know how in the world I'd find it!

definitely electrical... not ALL of the sensors would go off due to a bump or anything like that

Re: Door/trunk/brake warning lights come on intermittently

Is there a chime or something related with the lights coming on? Sometimes the chime module goes bad and feeds back to the indicator lights. If not, youd probably have to just get under there and push wiring around while someone watches the indicators, see if you can narrow it down. On my Lumina the dash grounds are all in one area, pretty easy to check them.

No - no chime jeffcoslacker. Yesterday it did it while I was stationary (tho' the motor was running).

The prospect of crawling under an Accord dash is very different from getting under a Lumina's! I'm a fat old dad - "AccordCodger" remember!

I am having the same problem with my 99 Accord. Did you ever find the problem?

Nope. And the car is history now. By the way, the problem worsened until the lights were on almost all the time the ignition was on.
