water pump

ive got a 91 blazer, it seems to be leaking coolant from the waterpump, most of it seems to be dripping down to the ground, i changed the oil recently and there wasnt much discoloration in the oil, is there any chance this could be a gasket, or should i just be concerned with my water pump?

as of lately the temperature has been running the standard temperature.

Water pumps usually come with a small weeper hole in the casting of the pump.

If you see coolant leaking from this hole, it means that the seal is shot and coolant is leaking past the seal into the bearing.

You may see anything from an ocassional drip to a steady stream of coolant.

The only fix is to change the water pump.
