Question 95 Escort Gearshift clicks when appying brake.

First the car would not start. I put my charger on it, and it only took a short time to charge it up to start. Now when I apply the brake I hear a clicking noise in the automatic gear shift. Is this something dangerous? Should I have it towed?

Most likely just the shift lock releasing if it is its normal if you try to push the button of the shifter and then slowly push down the brake (while holding the button) and if when it clicks the buttons pushes then its just that at nothing to worry about perfectly normal
