You realize the cars can be imported and then made legal, right?

The thing with Skylines in the US is that Skyline's don't meet US Regulations. So the cars must be modified to meet the regulations.

You don't need to rebuild the car at all or make a kit car.
If you've got the money, you can have it legalized without rebuilding everything.

Wtf are you talking about? MotorRex is not the only place that legalized Skylines.
And skylines can be imported by anyone with enough cash to legalize it.

And if you did have an illegal car, you are not jailed (you can be jailed, they don't though). You can be fined. Mainly it's crush the car, or if caught at the dock, send it back to where it came from. Porsche 959, now that was a hard car to import. There is only one company that imports them, a few others have been brought in with the owners building to full race spec, which only certifies them for track use not road use. Good thing about the guy that imports them is that while making them more emissions friendly, he also ups the horsepower a good bit.

There are probably others, however, MotoRex seems to be the most famous.

Any company that deals with importing cars and modifying them to meet US laws can do it if you pay them.

I've seen them imported by other companies. I can't recall who but I know I've seen it. Don't know the exact details and whatnot. Possibly there is another way to get them legally here, like taking them apart in japan and reassembling here.

Yes, there are companies that are bring them in, and registering them, but they are not truly legal. Those companies have been by-passing the federal gov't agencies, and if they are caught, the cars will be crushed like you mentioned, and possibly fined on top of that.

Yes, there has only been one company every to go through the DOT, EPA, and National Highway and Safety for the processing of any Skyline, and that was MotoRex.

So, yes you are right, the other guys is completely wrong. Feel free to link or post what I have written. If he thinks he knows more than me on the subject tell him where I can be found.

Re: List of RI's

By the way, loud music is not good for you
Ask Ted, he is deaf in one ear, because he always played on one side of his amp.

The inner ear has, for a lack of a better term, fine hairs that will slam into each other and break off, listening to loud noise (higher the freq the worst off), once they break off completely you are then deaf. FYI

You are right. That guy is an idiot. Anyone can import a Skyline but they cant legalize it. A lot of people do this and dont find out until the car arrives in ports. Then they're in trouble. Alot people think that because they have the money to buy the car they can get it. But they dont see the hidden expenses and laws that slap them in the face when it come in ports. If it was that easy there would be hundreds of Skylines along with other JDM cars here. But unfortunately because of U.S. laws and restrictions it cant be done and fortunately for Australia, Europe and the rest of the world that gives them more to play with. They have to love America for that.

Dude i was a fan of the skyline WAY b4 2 fast 2 gay my first skylien expiernce was when i saw a R33 blasted around the 13-miles and 172 corners of the Nordschleif circuit in 7 minutes 59 seconds. Setting the new world record for a stock car and the ring. RB motoring could never leglize skylines. they got their cars from mrex. they are however in the process of getting their petition to legalize skylines looked over by NHSTA, USDOT, and EPA. Also u talk bout reasearch do u know who did the crash test for Motorx? J.K. Tecnologies a.k.a. J.K. Motors. I know some of the guys on Automotive Forums have had the oppertunity to talk/visit the owener of Rbmotoring and right now they are like stated in the process of getting approved. All they skylien they sold went through motroex first.

This Guy just wont give up.

Re: List of RI's

That was me writing to a response in which he called me a skyline fan b/c of the movie and yup the R33 did do it. Supercars.net search for skyline then click on the R33. Also i think the nur. ring site has it on there. Nordchleif is the term for the Full Nurburing. There are 3 vartions i think the F1 track, The Nordchleif, and a 6 mile one i think. To Top it all they just called me a lier so i told them i'd mail RBmotoring and ask them if thy are currently legalizing skylines and post the email.

Re: List of RI's

Speaking of importers. Does anyone have info on any RI's that deal with importing cars from Japan. Not Skylines in Particular, I know the whole deal with them. But other cars from Japan.
