Aftermarket Speakers

I was told that to replace the speakers, I'd need to bypass the amplifiers on the Bose system and would cost much more money. It was said the entire system would need re-wiring.

Is this true?

I've already got a aftermarket AIWA head unit, but I'd probrably be looking to replace that as well. I'd like to purchase some front speakers (don't remember the exact measurements) as well as some subwoofers for the trunk. Could someone please enlighten me?

Re: Aftermarket Speakers

nah you don't need rewiring.. i'm using the same amp for my aftermarket speakers... at least my 6x9's. the front, you could possibly just take out the speakr there and use the same amp as well... i havn't tried it personally but it should wire the same as the rear. i have a sub in the trunk too, just have an amp hooked to it and the power running to the amp from the battery and you'll be good to go.
