Question D D D De Frost.

The switch for my fan is only working on the last two settings(breezy, hurricane). Is this an e-z fix or do I need a garage/dealership.

Replace the blower motor resistor and the fan will work fine. Usually located next to the fan motor. Costs vary between $20 and $40 depending on the dealership. Some of the aftermarket dealers are now carrying it too. You can change it yourself in about an hour with simple hand tools.

Just did it last weekend to my Daughter's car. Took a little over an hour to do. Removed the passenger seat so I could get up under the dash confortably. The part cost $28.00 at a local Car Quest, Auto Zone's supplier discontinued there's, and Advance auto parts needs 3 days to get the part shipped. The p/n generic number is RU44 (Advance Auto,Car Quest, Kragen, Parts America ).

You remove the lower dash panel cover (under the glove box), remove the blower fan(3 screws and a connector), then the resistance unit(2 screws and a connector). You will have to be quite nimble, almost a contortionist, to get at the back screw of the resistance unit, a long needle nose pliers did the trick for me.
