97 Jetta Alarm

Does anyone know how long the (factory installed) alarms sound before going off? The driver's side lock is frozen (the car doesn't have remoteless entry) and nothing short of a heat wave is going to loosen that baby up. I'm able to unlock the passenger side, but don't want to irritate the neighbors with the sound any longer than necessary. Thanks.

Not sure, I think at least 3 mins or so.

Try pouring boiling water on the lock, with the key in it if possible. Once you get it open give it a dose of graphite lock spray.
