S10 wont start

I have an s10 that has set for 2 years. When i try to start it, it trys to turn over, I can here the fuel pump pump but I am not getting any gas. If you put a little gas in the carb. it acts like it is going to start then it dies. Do you think that this could be a bad fuel filter. Also what other things should I check since it has set so long, it only has 127K miles so I think the engine should still be good.

just do a tune up. cap plugs wires rotor feul and air filters. has gas sat for 2 years as well/? if so add an aditive. check your fuel lines over, check for good charge on battery. it turns so thats a good sign.
why leave it set so long? was there a probem with it?

if a carb as you say, open the butterfly and check for cridders and bees, they will make nests in the weirdest places

I had the same problem w/ my truck, Feul pump was working, would start up when putting gas in the carb, then would die.... come to find out... there wasn't enough feul pressure. Replaced the feul pump.... runs like a champ now!!

if a carb, may take awhile to refill fuel lines and carb float bowl... could check by unclamping rubber line between carb and fuel pump and checking if full comes out. i've run my tank dry before ... had to pour teaspoon in carb and turn over ... repeated this about 6 times before fuel was back in lines and float bowl and it kept running.
