Air intakes 99 passat

I recently got an automtic 1.8T Passat, and would like to put some aftermarket parts on. I have only been able to find an HKS Air Intake. If anyone knows of any other manufacturers, please let me know.

1. I probably wouldn't bother with an air intake - the stock airbox is pretty good as is and the hp gains from the CAIs available is moderate.

2. If you're looking for performance, I'd start with suspension and a chip instead. Neuspeed for suspension bits is a good bet - you can do sport springs and bilstein dampers for under $750. For chips, there are several manufacturers out there and all provide similar performance numbers - its a matter of what extras you want with it - such as different settings, socketed, flashed etc. Start at Wetterauer and work from there.

3. ECS is a good source for parts, as is www.stopshopanddrive.com, www.parts4euro.com, and be sure to check out the group buys on sites like www.b5one.com, www.passatworld.com/forums, and www.sflb5.com.

4. For good tech advice, check those same sites as well as www.dub-tech.com - very knowledgeable people there as well as here.

5. Enjoy that Passat.
