Is there a "service engine" light?? I don't recall ever seeing these on Lincolns. Are you sure it's not "Check Engine" ??

My 1966 has no such thing. I have a "check engine" warning that's linked to the OBDII system, which was implemented in the Town Cars in 1995, I'm not sure if OBDII was started in 1995 on the Conti's, but I can't see why Ford would do TC's and not the other Lincolns in 1995.

You might try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes to reset all the computer systems back to stock however, you will have to run the car on the road for 15/20 minutes/miles before it starts running well again.

If it keeps coming back you need to get an OBDII scanner and find out why. Scanners are very inexpensive these days. You'll see prices from $25 to $500 depending on what you like. Mine's going for $79 right now.

BULLSHIT!!
Disconnecting the battery WILL clear all OBDII codes and cause your systems to revert back to factory settings. This won't tell you what's wrong, so IF there's a condition causing the system to alert you with that warning, IT WILL come back right away, or as soon as that fault is detected again.

There you go then, disconnect the light. There's no way anyone on any online forum is going to be able to diagnose a defect in your OBDII system that you can't detect yourself, scanner or not.

You might try swapping the entire computer rather than disconnecting the light.

Good Luck.

I've never heard of the OBDII light on, and no codes stored.
You might want to try another forum like LincolnsOnline or LincolnVsCadillac however, make sure you say exactly what the problem is from the git go "OBDII LIGHT ON, NO CODES"

Re: 95 lincoln continental servise engine soon light

My 97 did something similar and it was the PCV valve connector hose. It was cracked and was leaking and that caused the whole problem. I'm speaking of the rubber L shaped connector.

Have you thought of taking some English lessons...I read your issue several times, and I'm still trying to figure out your problem.

Sounds as though you need a code scanner in the worst way...anytime you have a check engine, or service engine light appear...you should take immediate action and locate the root of the problem.

Re: 95 lincoln continental servise engine soon light

I have a 2000 continental with the 'Service Engine Soon' light on also. It is throwing a code for a rusty filler pipe that connects to the gas tank... estimate is $400 to fix it.

Could be other problems behind that one as well, emissions components...!
