Compressor problems?

1995 Ford Explorer

The engine idles rough when in park or stopped. Seems fine when traveling.

We just recently (last week) had the starter replaced. 2 days after
the starter is replaced we have problems with the a/c. Turn on A/C
engine stalls. Turn on heat, engine stalls.

The mechanic says that it's the compressor. Does this sound right?

Re: Compressor problems?

That sounds kind of fishy... Any codes or Check engine light. Check to make sure the cables are tight on the battery and also the wire on the starter is tight.

fishy, hmmmm...

No engine lights are on. As far as I know, there are no codes.

I'll double check the wires. Thanks!
