Spark Plugs for Jimmy

Can anyone say what are the best Spark Plugs to use on a 96 Jimmy? I am trying to figure out whether copper, platinum....What would my engine (4.3 6cyl Vortec ) work best with??

Thanks!!!!!

Re: Spark Plugs for Jimmy

Use the AC platinum..It is what works best with your vehicle..Also if you need to change the spark plug wires I would highly recommend you use the AC Delco wires..They may be a little expensive. But trust me the expense is worth it..

The AC plug are very good, but you will dig into your pocket,
I just ck for my 96 an was $6.50 each.
The adv of the AC is the mileage = 100 th mile plugs.
I went with the reg ac plug for $1.95.

Great! Thanks for the input. I think I will definitely buy the AC Platinums, I think they'll be worth the price. I currently have some Bosch +2 on my Jimmy but they are not working as good as I wanted them too. The ruck vibrates a little.

The AC DELCO plats are the best for your engine. My owners manual says .045, but most people have had good luck setting them at .060.

Don't set them at .065.

Don't use the reg AC Delco plugs in 1996+.

Never use Bosch in a GM engine. They will foul and cause it to run rough.

Oops! No wonder I've been having my engice idle kinda rough, it might be the Bosch's. Although this is the second time around that I've used the Bosch +2. The first time I used them The car responded pretty well, that is why I used the again for a second time. But I definitely agree that the AC Delcos are the best for It.

Re: Spark Plugs for Jimmy

I think I rather pay more and go with the platinums instead of the Reg Plugs. I think that is what the manufuacturer specifies for my truck in particular, platinum.

Platinum plugs for the 1996 are the stadard plug so you are making the right choice.

If you want them cheap, get them off of ebay.

All 96+ should use AC Delco Platinums.

Re: Spark Plugs for Jimmy

Well, guess what you all...I went ahead and installed the AC Delcos on my truck instead of the Bosch +2 Platinums I had on it previously, and it has not been as good as I expected them. My Jimmy' RPMs shoot up past 1500 when I turn the ignition every morning, and there is this Knock and ping sound whenever I accelerate or when going uphill.

This never happened with the Bosh I had on it. Could the new AC Delcos be the problem?
