CSL Production info

Can anyone tell me exactly how many M3 CSL's were produced. I think it was around the 1500 mark. I know 500 went to the UK, 23 to Australia and 11 to New Zealand. Anyone know the total? I've read it before somewhere, but can't find the reference...

422 went to the uk not 500 and my father is lucky enough to own one. Awesome car.
