98 Stratus ES NO START

My 98 Stratus ES 2.5L v6 will not start. engine cranks fine, First of all I've got 257,000+ miles on my car. Original engine, 2nd transmission. The car died like you turned off the key, the 1st thing i checked was if i could hear the fuel pump come on with the key - pump did not come on, checked the pump connector there was no power, checked all fuses under the hood in the PDC and fuse box on the side of the dash all were ok, tested ASD relay and fuel pump relay both are ok, also switched the relays with the same type still will not start, when the key is turned on the fuel pump relay will not click, i figured out if i ground the relay with jumper wire, the pump will run when i turn the key on and shuts off with the key off, still won't start. I have fuel pressure at the injector rail, NO spark, I hooked up a OBD II scanner and all tests pass there is no check engine light on. I think the problem is the PCM not completing the ground path to the coil, ASD relay and fuel pump relay. Can anyone possibly confirm this for me or give me any advise. I don't want to spend 500.00 on a PCM if it will not fix my problem. Also does anyone know what type of scanner will Actuate the fuel system test? OBD II scanner WILL NOT. Book said to use a DRB scanner but I can't find one specific to that name. Help me please! Thank you, Eddie

With 257K miles on it, I have to ask if you have changed your timing belt?

have your sencors that are located under the hood. They are not fuses they are a little black square that is located under the air cleaner hose.

Re: 98 Stratus ES NO START

If you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail then the fuel system (fuses relays etc ) are probably OK. As BigDAN says, the timing belt is also a good thing to check. The bad news is these engines were bad for distributor failure in engines with 200k and up. The worst news is the distributor is a japanese part with a japanese price tag. try an auto wrecker when you recover from asking the dealers price. The DRB (III) is a dealer tool costing thousands of dollars new and the software for it is upgraded frequently over their network. Good luck.
