Re: 307 wanna replace the 2 barrel with a 4

it can be done and it is very practical. You need to find a 4 barrel manifold to fit the block, perferablly edlebrock, and a 4 barrel carb, also edelbrock i would perfer a 650 cfm. and you need the intake gaskets. make sure not to get a high rise intake or you will have clearence issues with your hood.

If you want an original cast iron intake, I have a couple. I use to live in Torrance, bet it has changed over the years. We use to cruise PCH and Hawtrone Blvd.

Re: 307 wanna replace the 2 barrel with a 4

I've also got a 307 that I'd like to switch to 4brl. What are some good, inexpensive intakes and carbs? I'm not sure how much it's worth spending.

Also, these 307's have the oil cap on the intake. Most intakes that I've seen have no oil cap (since it's usually on the valve cover). Do we need to relocate the oil cap to the valve cover?

Justin

I sold Darkbsc an original cast iron for $20.00 and $15.00 to ship it to Cal. You can still find them in some wrecking yards. You can also find used aluminum intakes on ebay, and the early ones have the oil fill hole for the tube. If you purchase one without the filler hole you will have to change valve covers also.
