Hydraulic Fan

Just wondering, does the 04 V-6 have a hydraulic cooling fan? I have noticed that on the right front corner there is an item that looks like an electric motor with six tubes coming out of it, would this be the pump?

that's the ABS control module.

the fan pump is below that - with the drive belt going to it. there are two hoses coming from it to the fan.

So the 04 V-6 does have the hydraulic fan. Why would they do that?

I believe they moved to an electric fan in 03 - to free up some drag on the motor.
