has Security fix caused another problem?

94 park avenue developed Security issue not letting car start. followed advise in http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=339485 post with correct resistor on a friday. everything seemed fine driving car saturday and sunday. tried to start car on monday and battery was totally dead, no lights on - nothing. jump started car to get started. now charging battery for testing. (2 1/2 yeras old) question is, could the installed resistor fix be running battery down?

i know it sounds stupid, and something like an old man would say, but check the battery terminals first. Makes sure they are tight and corrosion free, then start blaming the battery/alternator/electrical gremlins.

i should add that once started car ran about 5 minutes. took battery to autozone for a load test. of coarse it failed because of the minimal charge as i expected it would, but will get retested after charging. terminals looked quite clean. i'm inclined to believe it is just a battery (70 month model) going bad but hoping for a second opinion on resistior fix.
