well my 1990 n/a has that very common problem of the motor on the drivers seat going out ... only the switch for reclining and moving the seat up and down is totally out, the other is getting there but messing with it gets it working after awhile, am i just going to have to get a whole new motor ? when my mom drives my car she hits the lever thats next to the shoulder of the seat and this disengages the lock and she puts a pillow behind the seat its kind of sad to see this happen

Re: the computer chair gives more support!
maybe theres some loose connections somewhere .... just try pulling out the controls from the seat and look for loose wires or such... motor could be going out but since the others work and its an intermittent problem i would look for this first..

Re: the computer chair gives more support!
at that age its probly the motor. But it could be something getting in the seat track too. Take the seat out of the car and look real closely at the tracks and the guides for the seat. make sure they are clean, then clean all the connectors to the motor and the switch. It could also just be a switch going bad too. That happens alot more than I care to admit.
