oh yeah, its an auto, 110k miles. new plugs cap rotor wires.... Runs rough.. But has plenty of power for such a small engine.

Re: 93 metro poor gas milage

check timing and air filter. with that bad mileage fuel is just dumping into throttle body

air filter is new. When i looked today there was some oil in the air filter housing. The engine runs a little rough but has a lot of pep... i guess at that rate of fuel consumption it should!

more pep = less mpg

Are you sure the previous owner didn't tweak/modify it to give it extra hp?

Bring everything back to stock and you should get 30-35 mpg without the AC running.

Make sure your plugs are gapped correctly. Look at your sticker under the hood, all the tuneup data (idle speed, plug gap, timing) will be right there.

FYI I just picked up a nice inductive timing light at Sears for only $50. Make sure you clean off your pulley and use some chalk or white paint in the timing notch on the pulley.

15 MPG! Are you sure you don't have a hole in your gas tank?

Well the last tank full i was up to 32 mpg. I did find out the intake was jammed with gunk, and the pcv valve was clogged shut. I cleaned it all out, replaced the pcv valve and now just waiting to see if it gets even better milage.
