2003 sunfire DOOR & fender rubbing HELP PLEASE!!!

Hello I have 2003 sunfire 2 door and the pass. door moulding started to rub with the fender till the door moulding broke. GM repaired it by glueing the moulding on and the problem started to happen again a few months later. This time the fender moulding broke as the glue on the door would not give. I did not bring it to get fixed and one day the door crumpled in the fender. The door does not open now, and the same thing is starting to happen on the drivers side. I still have warrenty but GM does not want to fix it because they do not know why it is happening. The car has not been in an accident and GM says that the doors and fender are set properly. They Just do not know why this is happening. If anyone else has had this problem or knows why I have this problem, PLEASE give me a reply.

open the door and try to lift up on the door. if there is play the door hinge bushings are the blame. It is very common for them to wear out on two door cars, and even more common on the Sunfire. If this is your case demand that there body shop replace the hinges and repair the damage. Either way your car is under warranty and should be repaired. If they wont do it go to another GM dealer or contact GM direct.
