they came with a relay, its made by american race products. i have 3 grounds that i had to connect. i connected 1 to the neg terminal ground, the other which was for the switch was grounded to the firewall, then the one for the relay is grounded to the radiator support.

where are you getting the 12v+ from?? right from the battery?
Ive read about your problem in the Toyo forum, I think you've got a wiring problem with the airbag circuit, and not the accessories your trying to install.. |

If you take your airbag fuse out, do your foglights stop working? get brighter? etc?
what does your voltmeter read when the truck is running? |

Re: got a problem and i know you guys can help (hopefully)
my truck dont have the voltmeter, it has a little battery that will light up if it gets low. but its off.
if i plug in my cell phone charger into the accessory plugs at the bottom of the console its comming on too. my truck was involved in a light front collision with a fence that knocked the grill and bumper in. so i dont know if that had it screwed up or what. *edit* the truck was fixed back and repainted before i bought it. there may be 1 thing that i screwed up. there was a red wire that i was sopposed to connected to the low beam side of my head light wiring. i connected it to the pos terminal too. is this the prob.

Re: got a problem and i know you guys can help (hopefully)
yes, it says in the instructions to splice it into the low beam wiring on 1 on the headlights. i didnt want to hack around on the wiring harness, i touched the wire to the positive terminal and they lit up, so i hooked the wire up to the positive terminal. also i removed the fuse and the lights stayed on and they didnt get any brighter

Re: got a problem and i know you guys can help (hopefully)
no that wire wont have any effect on the airbag..
I dont see a problem with your accessories or the installation, I think there is a problem in your acc. wiring or the airbag circuit.. Your central airbag sensor stores trouble codes just like an ECM will, But because your tacoma is so new, Im not sure if you need a scanner to get them or not.. Do you have a diagnostic check connector?? |

Re: got a problem and i know you guys can help (hopefully)
i just thought of something
is it possible that you've got a weak/ bad battery or alternator?? The accessories your adding would cause more drain on the battery, than the airbag circuit will trigger a "low voltage" code especially things like foglights that draw a lot of power.. |

i had my battery replaced back in the fall, also had the alternator checked then and it was strong. i did remove the airbag fuse and this is what happened. the airbag lights went out, also my cigarette lighter quit
too. i talked to some guys at bruce walters toyota, they said that i may have a wiring problem with in the airbag curcuit. it will cost 60 bucks to have it scanned. i will come out cheaper just to unhook the fog lights, and just go buy better bulbs for my head lights. also that technition said that toyota wires the accessory plugs, and cigarette lighter plugs all in with the airbag wiring harness. he said that i may not be able to do any modifications to it anyway without it triggering that light.

Re: got a problem and i know you guys can help (hopefully)
well man, I dont know what ta tell you.. Its best to cough up the 60 bucks and have it scanned just in case.. It really sounds like a Low voltage code but if there is a malfunction in the SRS circuit, you never know, that thing could kick you in the face at any time.. Or not work properly in an accident
