First let me thank all the folks who replied to my AT issue, all is well now.
![]() A brief summary of where I’m at, shortly after my tranny issue, the harmonic balancer went out. That is now fixed, and all the skin on my knuckles is healing well. So here is my dilemma. I have a 94 Stealth SOHC, auto trans, with low miles that needs some really frustrating, but doable work. So do I sell it as is? Fix it, and sell it? Part it out? Understand this is a bottom end Stealth, and blue book in excellent condition is only $4500.00. Would really appreciate your thoughts! Yes the car runs, just blows steam out the tail pipe! Also it was parked as soon as the problem arose! Thanks in advanced. S1E

Re: What to do?
we can't really make a decision for you, I mean is this car your daily driver or somthing??? if so, it's a pretty good looking daily driver... if I were in your place I'd fix it, but that's just me

Re: What to do?
A blown head gasket would be the exact opposite of running great...if you are capable of doing the work yourself, why not do it then sell it...it will be worth more.

To Rocker, I understand what your saying. I’m not asking anyone to make the decision for me, was just hoping for some feedback. And yes this was my daily driver. I have sense purchased another car for that job. Just so you know, I don’t think I could bring myself to part her out, she’s just way to pretty! Also as a unique turn of events, one of the part time workers at my company has a friend who is a Mitsubishi mechanic, and does work on the side. If he comes in cheap enough, I will gladly let him do the work. I know I could do this job, but am also very sure that it will test my limits body, sole, and frustration control ability! Only problem with fixing her is I don’t know if I can bring myself to sell her once she’s back on the road! Maybe I could then give her to the wife? S1E

Since*
I'd say part it out as is, cut your losses and hope for a profit. The body looks pretty good from your pic, you'd be better off selling every little good part than a whole broken car. I wouldn't fix it unless it was gonna cost you under $500. |
